About Us

Since our establishment in 1933 Toner Transport & Logistics, a Dublin based family business has been at the forefront of the transport industry through 4 generations of the Toner Family. The company is owned and run by Paul Toner. He took over from his father, James, who successfully ran the business until the turn of the millennium.

James (now in his 80s) still has a keen interest in the business that he steered for many years, and he will frequently call to our HQ in Greenogue, Dublin, to see how things are going. Originally set up by Paul’s grandparents, James & Margaret Toner, on the premises of the old family home in Newport Street in the heart of Dublin city centre, the business has gone from strength to strength. We are now based in our custom-designed-and-built facility in Greenogue Business Park, Rathcoole.

It is just minutes from the Red Cow interchange, the main roads network interchange for the 32 counties of Ireland. We based ourselves here in order to make the best use of the road networks related to the interchange. Our company is truly proud to be an indigenous Irish company that provides fulltime employment to over 60 people from all over Ireland.

Our HQ building compromises 30,000 square feet of office and warehousing with custom-designed-and-built high palletised racking, and energy efficient lighting and roofing. We also have our own 4-bay workshop, and on-site truck and trailer washing facilities in our yard. In order to give the best service that we possibly can to our customers, along with our Dublin facility we have vehicles based in Cork, Galway, Kildare, Offaly, Westmeath and Cavan.

Our company runs an up to date fleet of over 45 vehicles and 110 of 13.6m trailers. All of our units are air suspension load and road friendly. Our fleet consists of articulated truck and trailer combinations, large rigid trucks, small rigid trucks, and vans. Along with our general haulage and warehousing service, we provide a pick and pack offering and we deliver full loads, part loads, and groupage on a nationwide 32 county basis. We add to this our specialist handling division.

Virtually every county in Ireland is delivered to daily by Toner Transport & Logistics. Our successful business is built on supplying a professional, flexible, no-nonsense service to all of our customers all of the time and this we provide thanks to our dedicated and loyal team. This team is made up of 5 senior managers, MD. Paul Toner started with the company in 1984 as an apprentice in the in-house garage looking after the maintenance and servicing of all vehicles, he worked his way up through the various positions within the company and has a broad knowledge of all aspects of the business. Alan Coates is our Finance Director he has many year’s experience in industry in general with particular emphasis on the transport industry.

Dermot Nolan is General Manager, Dermot is a senior manager with a multitude of experience across the transport industry. Noel O’Neill our Transport Manager has been in the transport industry for almost 30 years, including 5 years as driver with our company and 16 years as our Transport Manger and he along with Chris Sheedy manage all loads throughout Ireland for our various clients on a daily basis. Chris Sheedy is very experienced within transport management having started out as a driver with our company initially almost 20 years ago and progressed up through the ranks.

To compliment our management team we have administration staff, warehousing personnel, client controllers, shunters/strappers, mechanical personnel and an extremely dedicated team of loyal professional drivers. We believe in promoting from within and we monitor the performance and ability of all personnel at all times with a view of promotion to suitable positions within our company when the opportunity arises.
